Since I am pretty tired by witnessing amateur scammers and influencooor not being able to do even the basics to cover their asses, I decided to write some small tips which should be obvious to anyone, but apparently not.
I believe this little guide will be anyway faded by most and have an irrelevant impact on the scene of crypto scams, but I’ll feel better after venting.
Let’s begin.
Wallet Address
Ethereum addresses are 20 bytes (160 bits) long, so there are 2 to the power of 160 of them.
This means these many addresses:
Whether you’re a scammer dev, you have LITERALLY no excuse to be too lazy to generate a new address for every scam/shill/pnd.
You’re an influencoooor and some team is gonna send you money/token to shill on twitter or show the ticker of the coin between your vagina lips on onlyfans?
Get paid on a fresh address!
And if you are using an old address, don’t fucking link it to your ens!
How stupid do you have to be to show the world you got paid on totallynotirenezao.eth??? Do you want Zach not to make any work at all?
Funding and Tornado
If you are not an imbecile and created a new wallet to run your scam, you probably now need to send some funds to it.
Now, in an ideal world, privacy would be a core value and products like Tornado Cash would be used by most people, legit or not, and there would be no stigma attached to it.
As things stand, nothing screams “scammer” more than a wallet getting fresh money from Tornado.
Don’t be stupid, and just send the money from an Exchange, ideally one where you are not KYC’d. Most Exchanges recycle wallets so it’s very difficult to triangulate who’s who when sending tokens.
Also, if you ran a scam and cashed out 7.89 ETH, maybe don’t be so stupid to send exactly 7.89 ETH to the new wallet 10 minutes later, but for example split it into different amounts in more txs.
Leave no breadcrumbs
Unless you do an egregious scam like Anubis DAO, rugging $60 Millions involving some big names of Crypto Twitter, leaving people mad for months, chances are your little dogecuminu shill will be forgotten in a few weeks.
Don’t be stupid then and delete your tweets when things go south, or ideally when things are still fine but the job is done.
People don’t really go around screenshotting unless they’re already mad, so frontrun them, and also don’t use DMs systems on platforms where you cannot delete messages like twitter!
NFTs
If a project sends/mints some NFTs to you for paid advertisement, don’t get caught selling them on OpenSea on launch day
A smart way to operate is for example to organize a fake giveaway, that will be won by wallets you control, transfering the nfts to them, and selling from there!
So easy!
